Wal-Mart and local authorities are warning the community of a scam which involves a letter requesting the need for secret shoppers and includes a check for $1,890.
Wal-Mart reached out to authorities and wants to get the word out, they do not send out letters like this, it is a scam.
The letter begins with “Dear participant, congratulations, you have been pre-qualified to take part in the Neighborhood Research Secret Shopper Program.”
It then states that the enclosed check is ready to be deposited into the individual’s bank account, and that the funds will be available within 24 hours.
