ANONYMOUS QUESTION from a AUTONOMOUS PERSON
Editor’s Note: When I became the publisher of the paper I sent requests out to people in the area to send us your ideas and writing to be included in our community paper. I want to say thank you for those who have answered the call and have got involved in our newspaper. The gentlemen who wished to remain anonymous was one such person who came in with a great idea. The column name and the question came from an individual within our community. I want to personally thank this person for his involvement. Within this people can ask questions about things and our community and I will try to find a qualified person in our community to answer his, and your questions.
Question: How many vehicles travel through Atlanta on Highway 59?
A nswer: We can’t tell you exactly how many people travel US 59 through Atlanta every day, but we can give you an average daily vehicle count. There are several locations where we take annual traffic counts through Atlanta. The busiest is between SH 77 West and SH 77 East with an Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) of 22,606. Just west of SH 77 West the AADT is 11,446. Near Walmart the AADT is 19,718, and where Atlanta and Queen City city limits meet, the AADT is 19,658. Let me know if you have any other questions.
