All American cheerleader
Greenlee Smith was the only LK Junior High cheerleader to achieve All American this year even though all of the 8th grade cheerleaders were nominated. Greenlee and her family flew to Orlando the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. 800 All American girls from across the country made their way to Disney in Florida. 150 came from Texas. 400 performed the day before Thanksgiving and 400 the day of. Smith performed on Thanksgiving day. The girls stayed at Disney’s Coronodo resort, enjoyed a four-day hopper pass to the Disney parks and were treated like royalty. Disney opened the parks for three extra hours on Wednesday just for the All Americans so they could ride the rides without a wait. After the All Americans performed, they signed autographs for the kids who just happened to be at Disney. Photos with characters, a Disney feast on Thanksgiving and friends and memories for life were made.
