‘Where Is it?’ answer

That was Keith Rod Keener’s Tesla Cybertruck that made the Where Is It? mystery last week. Here’s some more background.

A little piece of Stars Wars has settled in Queen City and Atlanta. It’s a Tesla Cybertruck belonging to Keith Rod Keener. It’s a show-stopper. It arrived four years after Keener placed his downpayment of $100 to Tesla.

Owning it, driving it, riding in it… here are some facts.

— It’s all stainless steel. No rust here. — Doors are bullet proof and with armored glass.

— The truck can raise itself 16 inches higher — It has not only all wheel drive but also all wheel steering.

— That steering, by the way, is electronic, not any kind of wire.

— The battery is guaranteed for eight years.

— It can travel over 300 miles per battery charge.

— The truck’s been out for 10 months now. Keener has had his a little more than a week. — The Cybertruck took Keener to Houston recently. All he had to do was keep his eyes on the road. If he didn’t, it would pull over and stop. It’s called supervised driving. A model soon to come will watch for you even as you nap in the trunk.

It likes to pose for pictures. At least, Keener thinks it does. He can’t go anywhere without being asked. Recently, a person late to the car show asked Keener and the truck to wait before leaving.

“We’ve come from Texarkana just to see it,“ they allowed.

Keener is a regular fellow. He’s no zillionaire, ever if the Cybertruck’s MSRP is $99,999. He just knew when he first saw and heard about it that he wanted one.

His own career has involved 10 years with the Texas Highway Patrol and 45 years in the financial services field He’s a 1967 graduate of Queen City High.

The Cybertruck drives like the “smoothest sedan,“ Keener says. He’s sold on it.

By the way. That $100 downpayment he had to come up with at first? Tesla refunded it when they delivered finally.

Keener said he was really keen on that. Watch for it in Atlanta’s Christmas parade this year.
