Special job, career section announced

This last season during the COVID-19 outbreak has been especially hard for some businesses and workers. However, with businesses opening back up and many of the mandates going away people are shopping and eating out like before. Year-to-date the comptroller is showing almost a 15% increase in sales tax from last year for Atlanta alone. Most likely, this has created the need for new workers.

In addition, on June 26, 2021, the State of Texas has ended its participation in the federal pandemic unemployment benefit programs. All these variables contributed to the need for a new special section to focus on jobs and careers in the August 4th Cass County Citizens’ Journal-Sun paper.

The Journal-Sun’s new special section will go right alongside the job fair at the Mattie Lanier Richey Center on August 19, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In fact, copies of the special section will be distributed to the job seekers when they walk through the door.

The new section will be a tab, the same size as last week’s readers’ choice section. It will feature articles on jobs and careers such as resume writing, interview preparation, how to dress along with other information. Also, businesses around the Northeast Texas area will be invited to post their help wanted ads, along with their branding, and hiring information. Various ad sizes will be available.

Businesses who advertise in the section can also add an advertisement on our special website job page. There, they can use images or even videos to reach out to prospective employees. All ads need to be turned in by August 12 to be considered for the section. Contact shawn@casscountynow.com for more information or to sign up. The section will run a day before the Atlanta Job Fair
