At least 11 people have died in Texas, nearly half of them children, after Winter Storm Fern swept the state last week, the Texas Standard reported.

The Amity Study Club stepped away from its usual monthly meeting format to participate in an educational tour and presentation at the East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) Texarkana Resource Center. Members gained an in-depth look at how food insecurity affects the local community and the vital role the organization plays in addressing hunger.
