Wong chosen for excellence team

Vincent Wong was recently chosen to the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) All-State Academic Excellence Team.He was also chosen as one of only five students in the state for the TASSP Teens Serving Texas Award. Each award comes with a $500 unrestricted scholarship.Vincent was presented both awards at the TASSP Summer Conference held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas last week.

Queen City aided with mapping infrastructure

Residents of Queen City may have seen more activity than usual last week as the City of Queen City announced crews would be mobile, taking photographs and mapping the city’s infrastructure. The crews began work on Monday, Jun. 23, and teamed up with a nonprofit organization, Communities Unlimited, to see the finer details through.

Traylor High School alumni looking for information and photographs

Ronnie Allen and Hazel Alexander, two alumni of Traylor High School are seeking information and photographs regarding the all-Black high school which shut its doors for good in 1967 following the integration of Hughes Springs High School.
