Tax Free weekend is Aug. 8-10

This weekend Texas shoppers can save some money during the annual Tax-Free Weekend, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8, through midnight Sunday, Aug. 10.

The sales tax exemption applies to most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100. This limit includes any delivery, shipping, handling, or transportation charges from the seller.

Qualifying items can be purchased tax-free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas. Items you buy before or after the sales tax holiday do not qualify for exemption and there is no tax refund available.
