Recently I have been seeing posts come across social media both positive and negative about local businesses. I think these posts hit me especially hard because my wife and I owned a restaurant in Kansas and experienced personal struggles in, and throughout the time we owned it. I thought maybe I could give a fresh perspective from a former restaurant owner to those who have never owned a restaurant.
Belinda Elwick is retiring from the City of Atlanta after 15 years. She started in November 2008 with City Manager Mike Ahrens. She has been married to Bobby Elwick for 16 years and they have two daughters, Kristy and Erin, and four grandchildren. She has worked for the water department providing work orders to city workers, receiving water bill payments, and taking concerns from customers.
Last week a local business owner received a blessing from the community after a plea to help her through a tough time. Through ongoing patronage is important for any local business, she was thankful for the support she received.
