UNTIL THE DAY
(ACTS 1:2)
Today we are living in time that is filled with notable events. Events that is both good and bad. While revival may be happening, still we can see the hand of the enemy in the world.
This serves to remind us that we are still living in one of God’s “until the day” time sequences. And though the days may be evil, still nothing catches God off guard. God is still in control; He is not oblivious to our times.
Paul wrote to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 3:1-7 concerning the last days.
And in Matthew 24:37-44 Jesus also gives us warning that lets us know that we are on the verge of the next “until the day”. Until the day the trumpet sounds, and the church is raptured. Today we are waiting for the next “until the day”.
Until the day that Christ ascended, He poured himself into his followers. “…after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles.” Jesus came to die, “to give his life a ransom for many”.
In John 18:37 He said, “for this cause came I into the world.” He came to rise again giving us the assurance of eternal life saying, “because I live you shall live also.” But he also came to pour.
Then before leaving this earth, he left us with the command to continue pouring into others. What he had poured into his disciples must continue unto every generation. “Until that day” Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.”
In 2nd Timothy 2:1,2 Paul poured into Timothy so that they would continue to pour into others.
That which the Lord instructs us to do is not optional, but we are required to walk in obedient faith fulfilling the command of God.
His word must be preached, and taught, and lived “until the day” God calls us home.
