Those familiar bells are ringing
Community Services of Northeast Texas, Inc. (CSNT) is now ringing Salvation Army bells in several areas as the holiday season begins.
CSNT is the Salvation Army organization for Cass County and the Red Kettle Campaign has begun. Funds raised during the campaign are used to ‘do the most good’ right here in Cass County.
The Salvation Army is not just active during the holiday season, though. The organization helps those in crisis throughout the year.
Organizations like Salvation Army and CSNT work tirelessly to provide help and hope, and have been very busy during the pandemic. These organizations are on the front lines of the crises of local families and help stabilize those in need on a daily basis.
Many have lost jobs, homes, and are in dire situations due to the pandemic. This year, the need is so much greater than in the past. Families are struggling to stay in their homes this holiday season and for many of them, Salvation Army is their only hope.
Every dollar raised in the holiday campaign is used to help families. Not one cent is used for administrative costs or salaries. The generosity of those who place their money in the kettle is appreciated and is a vital part of the campaign.
Feeding those who are hungry, housing those who have lost everything due to fire, flood, or other disasters is exactly where those donations go.
Dan ‘Lucky’ Boyd, Executive Director of CSNT hopes this season brings re cord results, adding, “Those in need don’t wait for the holidays to be in need. A crisis can arise at any time. This is why we need a successful campaign in December; so we can help a family in June or August.”
Salvation Army bells will continue to ring outside stores through Christmas Eve and the organization is optimistic that with the community’s support, the fundraising goal will be met and surpassed.
If you are interested in donating funds by check, please make it payable to Cass County Salvation Army. If you or your organization are interested in donating an hour or two of your time to ring a bell, please call us.
