Stringer, Dotson to take reins of J.K. Hileman Elementary school for 2022-2023 year

Queen City ISD is excited to announce that Mandi Stringer and Lesley Dotson have been hired as the new administration for J.K. Hileman Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year. Mrs. Stringer will be the campus principal and Mrs. Dotson will serve as the assistant principal.

Both ladies are lifelong Cass County residents and attended Queen City schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. They have a combined total of 36 years of service to the Queen City Independent School District.

Mrs. Stringer and her husband Michael, also a QC alumni, have two daughters. Maci is a 2017 QC graduate and Mallori is a sophomore at QCHS. Mrs. Stringer has taught K-12, coached at all levels, served as the District GT Coordinator and spent the last two years as the Assistant Principal at Morris Upchurch Middle School. There is nothing she loves more in this life than children and is prepared to serve the students, parents, staff and community in a way that will reflect her passion for educating students to become the best versions of themselves while developing a love for learning.

When asked about her plans for JKH, Mrs. Stringer stated, “My personal teaching philosophy aligns with Benjamin Franklin’s thoughts, ‘Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.’ An environment that facilitates experiential learning will be cultivated across the grade levels at JKH. I look forward to engaging with teachers and students in numerous student based projects that will incorporate members of the community.”

Mrs. Dotson and her husband Jeff also have two children. Austin is a 2019 QC graduate and Ebie is a junior at QCHS. Mrs. Dotson has taught Kindergarten to Calculus during her time at QCISD. She has specifically taught Kindergarten, third and fourth at JKH and ninth-12th at QCHS. Along with her secondary math classes, she is currently the Project Based Research teacher, the QCHS GT coordinator and sponsors the Interact Club and Student Council.

Mrs. Dotson has always had a special place in her heart for all her students (past and present) and strives to treat them as her own children. She is thankful for the opportunity God has given her to guide and direct them for a brief moment in their lives. When asked how she felt about her new position, Mrs. Dotson replied, “Being appointed the assistant principal feels like I am stretching my wings. I am so excited for the opportunity to lead the Little Bulldogs and work alongside Mrs. Stringer and the JKH staff to provide the best educational experience possible for our students.”

Both of these lifelong Bulldogs have spent the majority of their adult lives investing in the children of Queen City ISD, and the district is excited about the plans they already have in the works for next year.
