A reflection with Kendell Wolfe

Dear Pine Tree,

Although your limbs may be weak, your trunk is still strong. I can still hear you cracking under the weight of the ice as you shed your limbs during the ice storm of 2000. Your presence was once upon a time plentiful throughout the neighborhoods, but no more. After you crushed through roofs, and ripped down power lines the village had no choice but to thin you out. Oh but yet Pine Tree here you still are, resilient standing tall in your coniferous ways. Boasting. Like you, I too am a survivor of the Ice storm of 2000. You and I, we were made for a time like this. So don’t chump out now and end up In my living room. Thanks.
