The Old Shall Pass

The Bible states that - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The Bible also states that this heaven and earth will pass away.

Psalm 102:25-26 says they will perish. Isaiah 51:6-says the heavens shall vanish away like a smoke, and the earth shall grow old.

Isaiah 65:17- For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Isa. 66:22- says as the new heavens and the new earth, which I shall make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

2 Peter 3:7-13 - But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word, are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord, as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is long-suffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, an the elements (rudiments, something orderly, one of four substances (earth, air, fire, and water) anciently supposed to make up all things) shall melt with fervent (intense) heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation (conduct) and godliness. Looking for the hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.

Revelation 20:11 - And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them. 21:1 - And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea.

Jesus said in Matthew 24 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

But why does there have to be a new heaven and earth? Because the world in which we live in is full of sin and ungodliness, and the Bible states that satan is the prince of the powers of the air and the god of this world. It must be refined by fire, and purified. Only after satan is cast into the lake of fire, can this take place. Then we will dwell in righteousness, for the former things will be passed away, and all things will become new...God bless
