Newly charted club seeks members

The first meeting of the newly chartered East Texas Republican Women’s Club was held last Tuesday at Amigo Juan’s Mexican Restaurant in Atlanta. President Tracy Lee introduced District Attorney Courtney Shelton and Chief Investigator Cody Sartor, who gave a presentation on how to recognize a child predator and how to handle a child’s outcry for help.

Afterward, Lee led discussion concerning upcoming projects, which included marketing materials for a membership drive and fundraising efforts. The main project for the current year is a Vacation Liberty School, a free half-day week-long camp for preteens. More information on the camp will be forthcoming.

This club is a charter of the Texas Federated Republican Women’s and the National Federation of Republican Women’s Clubs and is actively seeking new members in Cass County.
