Native Plant Society meeting

QCMC free meal

The Caddo Wildflower Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas meets at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Mary Dougherty Senior Citizens Center, 507 S. Kaufman St., Linden. Meetings are open to the public and start with a potluck before ending with a native plants/flowers raffle.

The Queen City Methodist Church will provide a free meal of beans and cornbread on Monday, April 1st beginning at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. For more information, contact Pastor Jeff Dotson at (903) 826-5828.

Laws Chapel Cemetery

Association meeting

Laws Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its semi-annual meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 16 at the Laws Chapel UMC Fellowship Hall in Atlanta.

All persons who have loved ones interred in the cemetery are urged to attend. Anyone who wishes to make a donation or memorial to the cemetery may contact Cara Helfrick at 903-824-7875 or mail to Laws Chapel Cemetery, P.O. Box 102, Atlanta, Texas 75551.

Mary Daugherty Senior Center

The Mary Daugherty Senior Citizens Center is open all week for anyone who would like to join the group there for bingo, exercise, crocheting and a meal.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday exercise is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

On Tuesday crocheting is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 to 11:30. On Thursday bingo is from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by eating from 10:45 to 11:30.

Every third Friday of the month they have “Birthday Friday” where they celebrate birthdays and have cake for those present. That normally begins at 10:45. Every 1st Thursday and 4th Tuesday they are hosting game day at 1 p.m. with a meal.
