M.U.M.S. Math and Science team competes in Longview

On Saturday, Nov. 13, Morris Upchurch Middle School’s Math and Science Team traveled to Foster Middle School in Longview for their first TMSCA competition of the year.

Only a small group of students competed at the meet with many students gone to All-Region band tryouts and little league football. Although the numbers were few, several students placed in the top 10 of their event.

In the Calculator event Madison Butler (sixth grade) placed eighth, Mallory Hamilton (seventh grade) placed eighth and Evan Benson (seventh grade) placed 10th.

In the Science event Gerald Malina (sixth grade) placed fifth, Cameron Clarke (seventh grade) placed sixth and Kyre McKinney (eighth grade) placed third.
