St Paul CME Church Vacation Bible School

Good Exchange Cemetery meeting June 13

There will be a Good Exchange Cemetery meeting on June 13, 2023, 6:30 pm at the Good Exchange Baptist Church gymnasium. Address is: 314 CR 4567, Bivins, TX 75555 (located in McLeod just has Bivins physical address) If you have a loved one buried there or you plan to be buried there, we need you to attend. This meeting is very important!!!!! PLEASE SHARE, the future of our cemetery depends on our participation.

Also keep in mind that the cemetery is NOT associated with or managed by Good Exchange Baptist Church and never has been. It is community-owned and should be maintained by it and families who have loved ones there.

The Cass County Genealogical Society Thursday June 8th 2023 Membership Meeting On June 8th we will have our “50th Anniversary Founder’s Picnic”. Evan Evans will give a program “The 1955 Rural Directory”. ‘The Spring & Summer 2023 Journal’ will be handed out, A ‘Silent Auction’ with many of the books from the Charles Steger Estate, The presentation of some plaques, door prizes, lots of good fun, fellowship, and much more.

The meeting will start at 12:00 noon, lunch will be served at 12:30 pm and the program will start at 1:00 pm, and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for this picnic, and please feel free to bring a friend. The meeting will be held in our usual location, The Fellowship Hall of The Methodist Church of Queen City at Marietta and Fourth Streets, Queen City, Texas.

This is a “Covered Dish Picnic” so please bring a side dish or dessert. C.C.G.S. will furnish the entrée and the public is always invited.

St Paul CME Church Atlanta, Texas invites you to Vacation Bible School from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm June 7, 8 and 9th at 412 John Street. This year’s theme is Following Jesus Changes the Game Twists & Turns. Activities will include Bible study lesson, crafts, music and refreshments. AISD to offer free summer meals for kids

Atlanta ISD will be offering no-cost summer meals to children through the age of 18 and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.

Meals will be served at Atlanta Elementary School and Atlanta High School beginning June 5 and ending July 6. Breakfast will be served from 8-8:30 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. - Noon.

Meals must be consumed on-site. No carry-outs are permitted.

Meals will be served according to the following schedule: Week 1: Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9. Week 2: Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16. Week 3: Tuesday, June 20, through Friday, June 23. Week 4: Monday, June 26, through Thursday, June 29. Week 5: Wednesday, July 5, through Thursday, July 6.

Mary Daugherty Senior Citizens Center

The Mary Daugherty Senior Citizens Center is open all week for anyone who would like to join the group there for bingo, exercise, crocheting and a meal.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday exercise is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

On Tuesday crocheting is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 to 11:30. On Thursday bingo is from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by eating from 10:45 to 11:30.

Every third Friday of the month they have “Birthday Friday” where they celebrate birthdays and have cake for those present. That normally begins at 10:45.

JE Manning American Legion Post 258 raising funds for War Memorial The JE Manning American Legion Post 258 is currently selling tickets for a Henry Big Boy .30-30 Lever Action Rifle to help raise funds for the new addition of the War Memorial in downtown Atlanta. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any Legionnaire.
