A Living Sacrifice
The first thing that that Jesus did when he came into this world was to present his body to the Father, and that to be used for the glory of God. (Luke 2:21, 22) The first thing that Saul of Tarsus did when he met Jesus on the road to Damascus was to ask, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:16) This sets an example for us, when we come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, the first thing we must do is present our bodies a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1) We surrender our will, our abilities, our ambitions to accomplish the will of God in our lives.
As we continue to live out our lives in our profession for Christ, our ultimate responsibility is to serve the Lord. Be Christ-like, be a Christian.
So in whatever profession we are in, we must show forth the praises of the one that called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light.
I will never forget as a young man seeing an older saint of God use his saddle shop as a church.
I personally witnessed individuals coming to know Christ through his bold witness right in the middles of that small shop.
We also realize that in living for Christ, we will go through difficulties, and face hardships.
But even in our adversities, we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16) When Paul in Silas were thrown in Jail for preaching the gospel, they were beaten and placed in chains, yet they began to pray, and they began to praise God. Because of their undeterred faith and love for God, we read that many lives were changed for the glory of God.
In the midst of our adversities, no matter where we are, the question we must ourselves is, “Has God made his presence known through our life”? Let it be our prayer, Lord help us to be a living sacrifice to the glory of God.
