L-K eligible for federal grant

Linden-Kildare CISD is eligible for a federal grant, ESSER III (Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Recovery) which has numerous requirements that must be met prior to the release of funds.

One mandatory requirement is for our district to solicit public comment during the planning phase. For us to accomplish this task effectively and expeditiously, a survey has been created to allow students, parents, and community members to provide their suggestions on how to expend these federal funds within grant guidelines to meet the needs of all students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please go to www.lkcisd.net to complete the survey. We are asking for as much input as possible.

In addition to this survey, LKCISD will host three public meetings to share more information about the expectations and opportunities of this grant. We will also be seeking more input from you so we can make the best decisions for our school and community.

We will meet at 6:00 p.m. at Mae Luster Stephens Junior High on July 1, July 8, and July 15, and we hope you will make every effort to attend at least one of these meetings.

LKCISD will have until September 2024 to expend ESSER III funds. If you have any questions, please e-mail the LK helpline at lkhelpline@lkcisd.net, or your child’s campus principal.

Thank you in advance for your input.
