Hughes Springs dedicates Fite memorial bench

The Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce, Hughes Springs Wildflower Trails, and Hughes Springs Municipal Development District recently joined forces to honor the memory of former City Manager George Fite. Fite was city manager from 1986 until his death in 2019. The three entities placed a memorial bench at Spring Park, in “George’s favorite spot for Wildflower Trails” and held a dedication May 13. Fite’s widow, Pam, along with their three sons, Erick, Kent and Keres and their families were present at the dedication, along with several members of the Hughes Springs community.
