Hickory Hill live at Music City on Aug. 17

Hickory Hill returns to Music City Texas Theater for their scheduled Summer Concert event. As they continue to celebrate their 45th anniversary this year, Hickory Hill has proven to be one of Texas’ most popular and enduring acoustic groups.

Through the years, the band has won considerable recognition, winning many prestigious awards in the Bluegrass industry. Though the members have changed they continue to bring the best bluegrass music on stage.

Always putting their bluegrass twist to cover songs and several of their songs they continue to bring the house down with songs like “Cadillac” and “Pecos Wind.”

Hickory Hill’s lineup features, John Early, guitar, Bob Stegall, Bass, Don Eaves, Banjo and guitar: Ronny Stingly, mandolin: Milo Derring, fiddle and dobro; and Richard Bowden, B-Fender guitar. John still handles most of the vocals, and Don, Ronny and Richard take occasional leads and all including Milo and Bob contribute to harmonies.

Hickory will continue to emphasize original material, seldom heard “gems”, or songs adapted from other styles of music. Original and classic gospel songs are some of the bands favorites. Hickory Hill has always been known for its warm personality and stage presence.
