Joseph Franklin Early, “born December 7, 1779 in Virginia - died August 3, 1845, Knox County, Kentucky, married Elizabeth Pemberton, September 5. 1805 in Sullivan County, Tenn.

A son John Sharp Early born July 20, 1810, Knox County, Kentucky, died Marion County, Texas, is buried in Kellyville Cemetery, married Mary Faulkner, Knox County, Kentucky, July 10, 1838; 3 children, James born June 30, 1846, Marshall II, Mollie or Mary or Mollie married a Mitchell, all born in Ringgold, Georgia. 2nd wife Adaline Barziel, married in 1850, Ringgold, Georgia, she died 1865, Ringgold. Four sons, John Monroe, William, Robert H., and Joseph Jackson.

Robert H. is the grandfather of the Early’s now living in Cass County. John Sharp Early moved from Ringgold to Jefferson, Texas in 1865, lived in Marion County near Kellyville. Robert H. born January 1, 1852, Ringgold, GA moved to Marion County with his father. He married Emma Jane Bellinger in Marion County in 18__. They had five children, Robert H. was a farmer and sawmiller in Cass Co., was appointed as the 2nd County Extension Agent In Cass County in the early 1920’s.

Joseph Jackson, born July 11, 1885, Marion Co., Texas, William Edward born August 13, 1891, Ollie born November 8, 1907, died October 27, 1978, Maggie, and Louie C.. Joseph Jackson the father and grandfather of the Early’s now living in Cass County, known as Joe J. Early in early years was a sawmiller, merchant, bookkeeper, County Clerk of Cass Co., 1938-1943. Died October 11, 1966 Linden, Texas.

Married Cleo Orr, May 26, 1910, Avinger, Texas. They had three children. Cleo died in Linden, Texas February 7, 1978.

Frank D. Early, born January 15, 1918 Avinger, Texas. Died November 4, I960, Avinger, Texas. Frank was a graduate of Texas A & M, served in World War II as a first Lieutenant in Europe, and was an employee of Lone Star Steele from 1948 to 1980. Married Rose Nell Winslett, December 5, 1945, they had four children. Lydia Jeanne Early Gibson, born April 14’, 1950, Longview, Texas, a graduate of Texas A & M now a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in Germany. She had one son Bryan Kelly Gibson, born July 10, 1976. Robert Allison Early was born June 17. 1951> Longview, married Nelcine Croley, June 23, 1971. They have two children, Samuel Lance, born June 2, 1978 and Lacy Allison , born March 23, 1980. Robert a graduate of£ Texas A & M now a Doctor of Veterinarian medicine in Linden, Texas. George Edward, born April Z, 1955 in Linden, a graduate of Texas A & M and a May 1982 graduate of Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fort Worth, Texas. William Lynn, born October 22, 1958, attended TSTI school in Waco, Texas, an airplane mechanic, operates a repair hanger at the airport in Atlanta, Texas, Emma Lena, 2nd child of Joe J. and Cleo Early, born May 10, 1920 Avinger, Texas, attended school in Linden, graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Taught school a brief time in Cass County. Married John R. Caver, December 21, 1942. Emma Lena Early Caver now lives in Atlanta, Texas. No children.

Howard George “Boots” Early, 3rd child of Joe J. and Cleo Early, born April 29, 1925. attended school in Linden, Texas, graduate of Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas. Served in World War II in Europe. Married Billye Ruth Ford, July 5, 194-6 in Linden. Howard G. and Billye have three children. Joe Patman, born August 16, 1949, Jefferson, Texas. Graduate of Peacock Military Academy in San Antonio with the rank of Battalion Commander; attended Tyler Junior College, married Donna K, Cook, November 15. 197^! has one son Patrick Shane Early, born December 2, 1976, Linden.

Joe Patman worked at Lone Star Steele, is now in the Mobile Home business in Linden. John Frank, “born June 14, 1952, attended Tyler Junior College at Tyler, married Cyndia Bryson, April 1, 1972. They have one child, Shelly Ruth Early, born October 18, 1978, Linden, Texas. John, Cyndia, and Shelly live in Avinger. John is a rural letter carrier out of the Avinger Post Office.

James Howard (Jim) Early born July 9, 1957 at Linden, graduate of North Texas State University*at Denton, TX. Married Amanda Sue Garrett, June 10, 1978 and live at Woodrow, where Jim is a junior at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. — By Howard George (Boots) Early
