Chamber Announces Upcoming Area Events

Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce has lots of fun events coming up this fall and holiday season, according to Chamber President Jill Crocker.

“This week the chamber will be presenting the Atlanta Local: Fall Maker’s Market,” Crocker said. “We have over 60 vendors with a variety of products. Many of our merchants will also have great sales. Come support local.”

“Glow Run preparation is underway,” Crocker said. On October 22, at 6 p.m. begins the three events in one—Beginning and with Monster Mile, followed by Glow Run 5K and wrapping up with the Glow Run Paint Party.

“This event brings hundreds to our area and is simply a lot of fun,” Crocker said.

Chamber Board of Director Nomination forms will be going out this week and they have four seats open to be filled by January. Nominations will open this Friday and will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 18.

“If you know someone that would be a hands-on addition to the chamber board, be sure to nominate,” Crocker said. “All nominations must be current chamber members in good standing.”

Those interested are invited to chamber’s local Business after Hours Event November 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.., hosted by State Bank.

“Join us for networking, snacks, wine and a bit of local fun,” Crocker said.

Christmas will sneak up on us before we know it, so the Atlanta Area Chamber has planned December 3 for the Christmas Parade, sponsored by TEXAR.

Check with the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce about signing up for the parade.

“The Float Contest and Parade Theme is ‘Christmas Movies’,” Crocker said. “Please use your favorite holiday movie as inspiration for your float design. Lighting elements should be present as the parade takes place after dark.

“Be creative and do your own interpretation of the theme to fit your organization! Persons age 10 and over may throw candy from parade. Participants may enter their float into the parade and contest for free.”

The Christmas parade float contest includes both a commercial and non-commercial division.
