Atlanta Middle School teams sweep Tatum
On Oct. 14, the Atlanta Middle School football program took on the Tatum Eagles

In the seventh grade A game the Rabbs blanked Tatum 30-0.
In the first quarter, Kaigen Loyd sliced through the defense on two tough runs, setting up a big 50-yard touchdown run from T.J. Hamilton.
Jaylen Finley added the 2-point run to make it 8-0. On the ensuing drive, Kam Williams blocked a Tatum punt that bounced right into the hands of Jacolby Wells.
Wells took it all the way for a score. After Liam McKinney runs in the 2-point play the Rabbs are up 16-0.
In the second quarter both teams played tough on defense amongst heavy rain and the halftime score was 16-0.
In the third quarter the Rabbs’ defense stops Tatum on their drive, and on the ensuing drive, McKinney found Landon Thomas for a nice pass-and-catch.
Hamilton raced around the left end two plays later for a big touchdown run. McKinney added the 2-point run to push the score to 24-0.
The Rabbs forced a Tatum fumble on their next drive, recovered by Aiden Eason. Hamilton extended the lead quickly on another long touchdown run to make the score 30-0.
In the final quarter both teams ate up clock time and the Rabbs ended up with a shutout.
Defensive standouts were Jaden Smith, Eason, Jaylen Finley, and Williams. This was a big win for the Rabbs’ seventh grade team.

In the seventh grade B game the Rabbs won 12-0 with Jacolby Wells recording two big touchdown runs. Tre Green also ran the ball well.
8A
In the eighth grade A game Atlanta won 54-22.
In the first quarter, Jayden Riley hits Tyson Blalock on a screen play, and turns it into a 30-yard gain, down inside the 10.
The next play, Riley corrals a bad snap and takes it in for the score. Kayden Linwood added the 2-point play to make the score 8-0, Rabbs.
The Rabbs’ defense forced a quick turnover, recovered by Evan Mitchell. On the next play, Riley hits Kayden Price for a 30-yard gain.
A couple plays later, Riley rolls right and hits a wide open Eli Mitchell for the touchdown to make the score 14-0. Later in the quarter, Riley split the Tatum defense for a 91-yard jaunt. Riley kicked the extra point to make it 21-0.
In the second quarter the Rabbs’ defense stood tall again. On offense Toddy Webster took a reverse into Tatum territory.
The next play, Riley races for another long touchdown. Marshawn Woodberry added the 2-point run to push the score to 29-0 at the half.
In the third quarter the Rabbs don’t waste any time getting back on the scoreboard as Riley found Evan Mitchell wide open for a 40-yard catch-and-run which made the score 35-0.
Tatum added a score on their next drive to make it 35-6, but the Rabbs answered quickly again, this time on a 38-yard run from Mitchell to put Atlanta up 41-6.
Atlanta stuffed Tatum on their next drive on a fourth down backwards pass which ended up being a big loss for the Eagles and giving the Rabbs the ball deep in Tatum territory.
On the next drive, Omeria Kinney scored a 23- yard touchdown on a nice piece of running.
Riley added the point after to make it 48-6.
In the fourth quarter, Tatum battles back to make the score 48-22.
The Rabbs put the icing on the cake on their final drive as Toddy Webster took a jet sweep deep into Tatum territory.
Two plays later Woodberry took it in for another score to set the tally at 54-22.
Nate Hernandez, Brennon Allen were among defensive standouts.
With the win the Rabbs’ 8A team moves to 4-0 in district play.
