4H to offer scholarship training

Local Texas 4-H members looking for ways to apply for 4-H Opportunity Scholarships are in luck, according to Cass County extension agents.

“Our 4-H Specialist from District 4, Denita Young, is offering one more in-person Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship Training in Bowie County,” said John Ferguson, College of Agriculture and Human Services Cass County extension agent.

Ferguson said the training will occur in Bowie County on Nov. 17, but registration is closing on Nov. 11.

This is an opportunity for any local 4-H club member to take advantage of but does require that applicants be a member of a local 4-H program or club.

“If you have or know a youth that is interested, be sure to contact us as soon as possible,” Ferguson said. “These scholarships target students who are either about to graduate from High School, Collegiate, Baccalaureate or Technical (and other programs)” Extension agents ask that folks share the following flier with school counselors and parents with youths in any of the aforementioned categories.
