Courtney Golden Elected to TDCAA Region 6 Board

Courtney Golden, Criminal District Attorney for Cass County, has been elected by her fellow prosecutors to serve as the Region 6 Director for the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) Board of Directors. TDCAA is the statewide professional organization representing Texas prosecutors and their staff, providing training, legal resources, and legislative advocacy to support the fair and effective administration of justice. As Region 6 Board Member, Golden will represent prosecutors across the region, serve as a liaison between local offices and TDCAA leadership, and help guide policy, training, and resource priorities that impact prosecutors statewide.

“I am deeply honored by the confidence my colleagues have placed in me,” Golden said. “TDCAA is essential to ensuring prosecutors across Texas have the tools and support they need to serve their communities with integrity and professionalism. I look forward to representing Region 6 and advocating for the needs of prosecutors, investigators, and other key personnel that are involved in the criminal justice system.”

Golden has significant experience prosecuting serious felony cases, including violent crimes and crimes against children. Her election reflects a commitment to ethical prosecution, public safety, and strengthening collaboration and training among Texas prosecutors.

As Region 6 Board Member, Golden will serve on the TDCAA Board of Directors and represent prosecutors from East Texas, including Cass County, during her term.

The Value of Regional Cooperation: Cass County and ATCOG

Many of the challenges facing local governments today extend beyond city and county boundaries. That is why regional councils of governments, like the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG), play a critical role in helping communities work together to address shared needs and opportunities.

ATCOG is a voluntary association of local governments across Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas that focuses on cooperation, planning, and shared solutions. Through interlocal agreements, partnerships, and regional coordination, ATCOG helps member counties and cities tackle issues that are difficult to address alone — from economic development and infrastructure planning to emergency preparedness and public safety.

One of ATCOG’s most important functions is supporting 9-1-1 emergency communications and GIS mapping, ensuring first responders have accurate location and address data when seconds matter most. Regional coordination also strengthens disaster preparedness, grant access, and long-term economic planning — particularly important for rural communities.

Cass County is an active and engaged member of ATCOG, recognizing that collaboration strengthens local services while maximizing taxpayer resources. Cass County Judge Travis Ransom’s service on the ATCOG Executive Committee ensures that the county’s interests and perspectives are represented at the regional level as priorities are set and programs developed.

Through ATCOG, Cass County is better positioned to partner with neighboring communities, leverage shared expertise, and continue building a safer, more resilient, and economically strong region for the future. By working regionally through ATCOG, Cass County is helping shape a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future—not just for our community, but for all of Northeast Texas.
